The guests walk to the bikes, positioned near the hotel, and are briefed by our staff about the afternoon program. The difference with a regular bike tour is that the guests are going by themselves without guidance. They are given a booklet with numbered questions and a separate map with those numbers on it. In the booklet and on the map there are 2 mandatory questions, where we want guests to stop. At those stops, our staff will be there to give them a Dutch treat. We have one lady in traditional Dutch clothing on the canal with a platter of herring and one stop is at a location where we have a poffertjes boat laying, where the guests get a portion of Dutch Poffertjes.

Your guide will take you to the Middle Ages and you will hear all the stories about the old buildings. Discover hidden churches and walk through the narrow alleys of this ancient city pearl. Your guide also knows everything about the modern daily life of today's residents.

Duration: approx. 2,5 hours The Heineken Experience, located in Amsterdam, is a historic brewery and corporate visitor center for the internationally distributed Dutch pilsner, Heineken beer. The historic industrial facility was built as the first Heineken brewery in 1867, serving as the company's primary brewing facility until 1988 when a more modern, larger facility was constructed on the outskirts of the city. Upon arrival at the Heineken Experience, the guests will get an entrance ticket and do the tour of Heineken by themselves. The guests end at one of the bars upstairs (private room) in the Heineken Experience, where they await a ‘tap cursus’. This crash course in how to serve the perfect beer will learn the guests the ins and outs of ‘tapping’ the perfect beer in informal yet educating surroundings. The draught course is including beer, wines and soda’s, cheese, sausage and bitterballen (hot snacks). And of course, the guests will get their certificate, showing they know how to serve the perfect beer from the tap.
The guests enjoy breakfast in the hotel. In the morning the guests are brought to the pick up location of the 2 CV’s. There are 47 well maintained 2CV’s or as the Dutch call them ‘lelijke eendjes’ (ugly ducks) available. Normally we calculate 4 persons per car, so we will need 15 2CV’s. After a briefing on driving safely the guests start driving in teams through the polder landscape of North Holland. No highways or bigger motorways, but small roads with twists and turns through the beautiful landscape, through picturesque villages and typical Dutch scenery. A great way to experience The Netherlands outside Amsterdam! Programme layout (suggestion only)

Sailing on the IJsselmeer is a great experience, it requires not much from the guests, they can enjoy the scenery around them and each other’s company. The catering, the bar with music and the old sailing ship adds up to the experience. The starting point will require a short transfer, we will start outside of the locks on the island of IJburg. This will save approx an hour of going through the locks and is recommended. From the island of IJburg (suburb of Amsterdam) the ship sets sail towards the island of Pampus. Pampus is a former defense island to protect the city of Amsterdam from foreign navy ships. We will go around the island and end the sailing trip at the jetty of the Muiderslot in Muiden. Timewise it will take aprox from 10.00 – 15.30 to sail this distance (depending on wind of course). Along the way the guests will enjoy a sumptuous lunch buffet. Duration: approx. 6 hours
The imposing Muiderslot gives you a taste of real Dutch history. It is part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam and included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its location at the former Zuiderzee, in the water-rich environments of the river Vecht is breathtaking. The Muiderslot was built around 1285 by Count Floris V, an ally of King Edward and later of the French Court. While hunting with falcons one day in 1296, Floris was captured by his nobles and imprisoned in his own castle. In their flight from the advancing hordes, he was brutally murdered in the vicinity of Muiderberg. Over 300 years later, Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft took up residence in the Muiderslot. This ‘Dutch Shakespeare’ is the castle’s most famous resident. Hooft was named bailiff of Muiden as well as bailiff of Gooiland in 1609 and held that position for almost 40 years until his death in 1647. He is best known for his proze, poetry and impressive voluminous history of the Dutch Revolt: De Nederlandsche Historiën. We will enjoy a tour through the Muiderslot that will give your guests some insight in the Dutch Golden Age! From the Muiderslot we transfer the guests back to the hotel in Amsterdam.
