Gauja National park has the longest bobsleigh track in Europe, where manyinternational competitions including Olimpic games have been organized! It is amazing fun - 30 seconds of pure adrenaline rush! Sleighing down 1420 meters you will reach speeds of up to 70 km/h. Bobsleigh ride is available in winter and in summer time.
Baroque reception in Rundale Palace
The Rundale Palace is an example of the early work of Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, who also created famed Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. It is one of the few remaining places in Latvia, where the very essence of the 18th century may still be experienced. The Master of court’s ceremonies and Ladies of the Duchess court will meet you on the State stairway and welcome them to the Palace. You will be offered a glass of champagne at the Gold Hall by traditions of 18th century. After welcome drink Courtiers will invite guests to the White Hall for a program “Language of Fans”. The aim of this program is to introduce guest with “Language of Fans” - ladies of the Duchess court demonstrate a lesson of good manners, how to win attention of Grand Dukes, teach dance Menuet for the guests at the White Hall. Later 16th century concert will be performed by court musicians with the virginal of the 16th century and the violin. At the end of show will follow excursion through the private and state apartments of the Palace.
